03/29/1999-To Conduct Operations Halfway Around the World

Changi Airport, Singapore, March 29, 1999

Now is the departure day, and nothing comes any faster than this. Here I am in Singapore, wrapping up the 7-day trip to Indonesia.

I want to write a wrap-up entry in this log, so as to enable me to conduct operations halfway around the globe easier and more efficient. I am referring to the logistical aspect of the next trips. On a side note, where is the base and where is the destination? Either places are pretty much the same these days. So to recap the past 7 days, I'll start with the logistics, followed by my own personal notes.

The logistics list includes the usual:

And the unusual:

I will leave the space below empty for any additions to the list above.

And I will recommend the exit procedure as follows:

I will leave some space below for any additions:

The personal note I'd like to add is just a postscript to this part of journey.

First is Frankfurt: one word, expensive! A postcard costs $2. Who wants to buy? And the terminal here there seems to be OK. Not as good as Singapore.

Singapore on the other hand, is amazing. At least the terminal is. I could see that the city or the whole state is just about the same. I think Singapore will stand as a symbol to the rise of Asia. Many different people from different parts of Asia come here. In a way, perhaps, this resembles the "America" of Asia. The rise of the new world.

A nice little surprise now is that this flight will make a stop in the Netherlands. Well, after all this time and plans on going there, now I will get to see a 1-hr glimpse at it. Pretty cool, and I'll consider this as an "Intro" for now.
