Walking out of the hotel, I made sure that the door didn't hit me on the way out. No, I'm just kidding. But really, after two days in Hongkong, I finally made it to this day (Sept 23) when I was walking out of this big Cathay Pacific bird at the Denpasar airport. The next program for me was to find a rental car, then snake my way around until I reached my village in Seririt. It sounded like a pretty simple program to accomplish. However, being myself, I had to put a little twist in it.
After finding the little white Suzuki Jimny, I drove it Southward towards the beach. That's right, I had to make a quick visit to Kuta. As usual, in Kuta, a boogie-boarding session awaited me. Unfortunately, that day the waves were too big. It was very difficult to try to catch a breaking wave on a boogie board. That day, the waves were so big most of them broke way into the sea. However, it was a good time out in the beach for me. As it turned out, that day was the only day I was out boogie-boarding.
The sun were quickly approaching the Western horizon when I hurried the jeep into the city of Denpasar. I was just following the road signs. The maps I had were just free maps I got from some Circle-K store right by the road on the beach. It was dark and I carefully snaked my way through Bedugul into Singaraja, and then eventually Seririt.
When I got home in Seririt, everyone was there: my parents, bro & sis-in-law, and my relatives. The following day, the "maturan" ceremony started, and I was very glad to be part of it. Too bad my sister and her family couldn't make it there.
